Message from the Managing Director at Pulse Insurance Limited Torquil McLusky ACII:

“2025 has been a year of huge change for Pulse Insurance Limited.  Two of our directors who had been involved with Pulse from the very outset, Paul Sandilands and Anthony Pilcher retired.  They have both done a huge amount to make Pulse what it is today and we are so grateful for everything that they have done.  But they have left the business in a great position and we are incredibly excited to see what the next few years will bring.  In November we finalised our merger with Nirvana and already we are seeing myriad ways to collaborate and support each other effectively.  We are also really enjoying getting to know the people involved; it has been a real pleasure to spend time together.  We do not anticipate change to any of our teams as a result of the merger.

As far as our business is concerned: life business continues to provide exceptional cover to people who would otherwise be unable to obtain insurance whether because of their health, hobbies or residency.  The specialty team is growing its reputation as a real powerhouse of expertise in many areas including entertainment, sports, complex travel and SME covers generally and the schemes we support continue to do well.  Sport & leisure is growing quickly and is working closely with a number of associations and governing bodies to provide online solutions for them and their members.  Our new Health division looks like it will be a real success and we can already see that our ability to move quickly and offer innovative solutions is bearing dividends.

At the moment the world seems a more dangerous and divided place than it has for some time and I think many of us are worried about how political, technological and environmental issues will impact us and our families.  These are difficult times for many people in many parts of the world.  But when I look around the people at Pulse, the brokers we deal with, the insurers who support us and the business and individuals that come to us for cover, I remain convinced that we can make a difference and that the future is positive.
