May 2021 is Stroke Awareness Month. The UK Stroke Association is marking the month by launching ‘Save our Research. Rebuild lives.’ campaign.
The campaign is designed to raise awareness of the damaging effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on stroke research. A severe drop in charitable income has cut the research budget by half.
Here at Pulse, we provide Life insurance for individuals who cannot get the cover required due to a wide range of medical conditions including Strokes.

The good news is that Stroke incidence has declined by 30% in the United Kingdom over the past 2 decades. A reduction in smoking and a general awareness concerning healthy lifestyles are important factors in this remarkable statistic. However, stroke remains responsible for causing life-changing impairments in its survivors, leading to it being one of the top five causes of disability-adjusted life-years in high-income countries and globally in 2017.
Whilst improvement in dealing with the residual impairments from a stroke which leads to better quality of life, the prevalence of ongoing problems remains high and can make it difficult to provide life cover for prospective clients with residual deficits.
Pulse can provide cover in some of these incidents.
Whilst we cannot provide Life Assurance in all circumstances, Accidental Death cover can provide some protection whilst you go through the life underwriting process.
It is always worth contacting us to see if we can help and it is important to note that when we can provide cover it will include Covid-19.
