Pulse Protect+ now including Covid Cancellation cover.
Our new facility with Canopius Syndicate has already given us the platform to be more flexible and innovative with the cover that we offer our corporate clients.
Canopius have demonstrated that they are totally in tune with client requirements during the ongoing and unprecedented Covid situation in which we find ourselves.
We are constantly reviewing our position collaboratively and we are pleased to announce that we have widened our stance yet further by including cover for cancellation in the event that an insured person, their fellow travellers or a member of their household tests positive for Covid 19.
Our updated Covid clause now reads:
IT IS HEREBY NOTED AND AGREED THAT cover for cancellation under this Certificate excludes any claim arising from or attributable to Covid 19; other than when a trip is cancelled as a result of an insured person, a business partner or colleague they were due to travel with or a close family member receiving a positive diagnosis of Coronavirus necessitating the cancellation.
For the purposes of this exclusion Covid 19 is defined as:
a) Coronavirus disease (COVID-19)
b) Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)
c) any mutation or variation of SARS-CoV-2
d) any fear or threat of a), b) or c) above
Pulse feels that it is important to make this limited exclusion abundantly clear to our clients, particularly at this time when the importance of clarity in policy wordings has been highlighted. We do not wish to hide behind exclusions buried in the wording.
The situation is fluid and all claims will be considered on their individual merits.
Lewis Kateley, Accident & Health (A&H) underwriter at Canopius said:
“In these challenging times, we understand the need to be flexible and work even more closely with our partners to find solutions.
“While others have enacted blanket exclusions, we have used our experience in the A&H space to understand the risks policyholders face in this ‘new normal’. We have ensured that when working with Pulse, we apply our tried-and-tested principles learned through the management of similar books of business.
“While these are unprecedented times, nothing in our experience tells us that it should stop us from continuing to write smart business, so we’re excited to be able to work with Pulse Specialty and offer them the solutions they were looking for.”
Alongside this Pulse has tweaked our wording to continue to ensure it is competitive with the wider corporate travel market, to this end we have launched our Protect+ product which is our existing market leading corporate travel wording with a number of special extensions providing even more protection for your client. Additional benefits include Counselling, a Fracture Benefit, and a PTSD TTD Benefit. This is in addition to Bereavement Counselling, a Coma Benefit, Facial Disfigurement, Psychological Assistance and Retraining Expenses..
Emergency medical assistance is provided by Healix International and policyholders will have access to their Travel Oracle app which provides pre travel information, local updates whilst you are at home or abroad (including the latest Covid 19 regulations) and easy access to contact their team in the event of an emergency.
