Cervical Cancer Prevention Week runs from 18th to 24th January 2021.
Pulse provides Life Assurance for individuals with pre-existing medical conditions, including many types of cancer such as bladder cancer, blood cancers, brain cancer and others. The cover we provide includes Covid19.
With regards to cervical cancer, fortunately in the UK we have an excellent screening program and since the early 1990s cervical cancer incident rates have decreased by 25% and have remained stable in the period 2015-2017. The incident rates are expected to fall in future decades due to the impact of the HPV vaccination which protects against 9 HPV types which cause 90% of the cervical cancers in women
Fortunately, more than 50% of diagnosed cervical cancer cases are Stage 1 and from an underwriting perspective, once treatment has been completed then terms will be available one year after completion of treatment
For more serious stages of cervical cancer there will be a longer deferral period ranging from 3 to 5 years.
Every case that comes to us is considered on an individual basis. We do not have a tariff and premiums will depend on individual medical circumstances. We cannot, of course, provide cover in all cases but it is always worth trying us. Many of our applicants have been declined cover elsewhere.
