The cancer scheme targets the younger working-age population, a demographic often underinsured for critical illness. Alarmingly, cancer diagnoses among those in their 30s and 40s have risen sharply, highlighting the critical need for this product. Since the early 1990s, cancer rates in people aged 25-49 have risen by more than a fifth (22%). Cancer Research UK estimates that 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and cancer will cause one in four deaths in the UK by 2030.

The scheme’s support package and pre-diagnosis prevention is particularly significant. Cancer Research indicates that up to 40% of cancers are preventable, highlighting the importance of prevention awareness and education on healthy lifestyle choices as a key benefit of the scheme.
