On the 18th October, Pulse employees past and present were joined by insurers, brokers and IFAs to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the company’s founding.
For the last two decades Pulse have provided life and income replacement covers to those who struggle to obtain them, whether due to medical conditions or hazardous occupations. The company added a London Specialty division, focusing on Personal Accident, Sickness, Travel and K&R covers, in 2017 and continues to grow.
The event was held in the magnificent Adam Room at Lloyd’s and a very enjoyable evening was had by all.
Torquil McLusky, Managing Director, gave a speech thanking those in attendance for their support over the years and outlaying Pulse’s ambitious plans for the future as well as announcing that Joe Balsom, who setup the Specialty Division in August 2017, was joining the board.
Pulse’s objective right from the start has been to help and provide solutions for people who cannot find cover in the standard market. Intermediaries are getting bigger and bigger but that does not always mean that the range of solutions available grows. Often it feels as though insurers are providing more and ore options to people who are healthy, can access the internet easily and live and work in the UK. Pulse helps people who don’t fit in that box and don’t always know where to look. Our specialty team is extremely competitive in providing cover but the team also recognises that where they often add most value is for SMEs, charities, overseas workers or those in entertainment. Why? Because they can be flexible and tailor cover in a way that recognises that a bespoke solution means a better fit for the client and that must be right.
Pulse has been around for 20 years and whilst using technology to speed up and improve processes is essential we haven’t forgotten that being able to talk to a person and building relationships is really what good insurance is all about.
