Pulse are proud to support the Salvation Army!

Pulse’s Head of Entertainment & Special Risks, Ben Pailthorpe, has a long history with the Salvation Army, from volunteering as a teenager through to his thirties, to working for their captive insurer sagic.

Through these connections, Pulse are delighted to support the work of the Salvation Army in the UK and abroad by providing Personal Accident and Travel covers which support the many officers, employees and volunteers safely offer their time and efforts to support those who need it the most.

Ben Pailthorpe said ‘The Sally Army was there to support me after I lost my parents as a young man, and through volunteering and working alongside my local corps and youth group I made many lifelong friends. So, I understand firsthand how their work can impact people’s lives.’

‘Being able to assist professionally by combining my knowledge of the work they undertake with my experience in Personal Accident and Travel insurance is very gratifying.’

We have been able to provide cover for employees working in hazardous areas such as Ukraine, helping coordinate the SA’s response to the ongoing humanitarian situation as a result of the war, which is hugely important for individuals on the ground as well as ensuring peace of mind for those individuals travelling into a difficult situation.

Gordon Dewar, CEO of Sagic said ‘Sagic are happy to be collaborating with Pulse in supporting the Salvation Army’s vital initiatives. By facilitating robust Personal Accident and Travel cover, we aim to safeguard the dedicated officers, employees, and volunteers who selflessly devote their time to making a positive impact in the UK and beyond. Together with Pulse, we are committed to ensuring the well-being of those on the front lines, particularly in challenging environments like Ukraine, as they work towards alleviating the humanitarian consequences of the ongoing conflict. Our partnership reflects our shared values in making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.’

We often think of the Salvation Army this time of year, there’s nothing quite as festive as a brass band playing carols. The SA’s Christmas Appeal is in full swing and Pulse are delighted to be supporting it!

With the current cost-of-living crisis, thousands of people are expected to turn to The Salvation Army for help this winter. In over 650 communities across the UK, we will be doing all we can for them, whatever their circumstances.

We want to be there for people who are facing poverty because they simply can’t make ends meet. For the families struggling to feed their children. For the older people in our communities who have never felt as lonely as they do now.  For the people who are homeless and trying to get back on their feet.

You can help support the appeal here: https://www.salvationarmy.org.uk/christmas-appeal

£0.90 from every £1 is spent on helping vulnerable people in communities across the country.
